Coole Cody wins the Craft Irish Whiskey Co. Plate Handicap Chase after leading from the first fence and outpacing favourite Imperial Alcazar on day three of Cheltenham
- The Evan Williams horse led the field from the first fence in the Plate Chase
- Adam Wedge had to fight back after losing ground to Imperial Alcazar late on
- Imperial Alcazar and Celebre D’Allen had been joint favourites at 7/2
- Coole Cody now has four career wins which have come at Cheltenham course
Coole Cody won the Craft Irish Whiskey Co. Plate Handicap Chase at 22/1 after leading from the first fence on day three of Cheltenham.
Coole Cody had to recover from a late error after getting boxed in behind Slate House over the second-last.
Adam Wedge had to fight back after looking outpaced by Imperial Alcazar but the joint favourite tired and clinched second in a photo-finish with Spiritofthegames.
The 11-year-old now has eight career wins with four of them coming at the Cheltenham racecourse.
