Though it appeared she might be well-beaten turning for home, WET PAINT (Blame–Sky Painter, by Street Cry {Ire}) came with a furious rally down the Oaklawn Park stretch to take a sloppy rendition of the GIII Honeybee S. and 50 points on the road to the Kentucky Oaks. A last-out winner of the Martha Washington S., the bay got away slowly and trailed the field as they passed the wire for the first time. Under an expert ride from Flavien Prat, she weaved her way though traffic but was still trapped against the rail with plenty of rivals in front of her past the quarter pole. As space opened up in front of her, Wet Paint dove through between horses and sailed clear in the final sixteenth for the win. The 3-year-old fillies covered the 1 1/16 mile in 1:45.35. Lifetime Record: 5-3-1-0.
