Dermot Weld is eyeing a crack at the Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster for Leopardstown winner Shamida.
The Australia filly progressed from a 12-furlong maiden win to land Thursday’s Irish Stallion Farms EBF Stanerra Stakes over a mile and six furlongs.
Partnered by Chris Hayes, Shamida finished with a flourish to grab a head victory over Divine Jewel, with Weld now plotting another step up the ladder in the Doncaster Group Two on September 14.
He said: “Tactics still win races and it was a very good ride by Chris Hayes. That was the plan and he executed to perfection.
“She is an improving filly and is improving with every run. Hopefully she continues to progress.
“Now that she is a Group Three winner, we will probably look at the Park Hill, the Group Two at Doncaster. I’d like to give her a bit of time between her races.
“She’s a very genuine filly and I love the way she battles. She doesn’t know how to quit.”
