- Treasure marks return to action with fourth place finish in the Lingfield Oaks
- Likely Treasure will contest the Ribblesdale Stakes at the Royal Meeting
Treasure, owned by The King and Queen, is likely to be aimed at Royal Ascot after a pleasing return to action at Lingfield.
The grey filly, who had won her only start as a two-year-old at Nottingham last October, stuck to her task in fine fashion for jockey Rossa Ryan in the Lingfield Oaks Trial and finished fourth behind her stablemate You Got To Me.
While trainer Ralph Beckett was pleased with what he saw, it did not convince him that going to Epsom for the fillies’ Classic in 19 days would be the right thing to do for her.
Instead, it seems likely Treasure will contest the Ribblesdale Stakes at the Royal Meeting in six weeks.
‘She will come on plenty for that run,’ said Hampshire-based Beckett. ‘But I don’t think we can go to Epsom on the back of that. Maybe the Ribblesdale? But she will come on plenty for it.’
