Robin Goodfellow Best Bets – by Steve Ryder

CRAMBO (NB) looks to hold strong claims for recording his first Grade One victory in the Long Walk Hurdle (Ascot 2.25). The six-year-old is unbeaten in his four starts going right-handed, including a victory at this track last season, and he is unexposed over this three-mile trip. He was unlucky not to finish closer last time when third at Haydock and should run well with Jonathan Burke deputising on board. In the opening novices’ handicap hurdle (Ascot 12.40),

WRAPPEDUPINMAY (NAP) should make a winning handicap debut for the in-form Paul Nicholls yard. The five-year-old has been beaten at 8-13 on his previous three starts but the form of those runs has worked out better than expected. He finished second behind the wellregarded Mt Fugi Park at Ffos Las before finishing runner-up behind the now 135-rated Grade Two winner Deafening Silence last time at Exeter. An opening mark of 118 could underestimate him and he will be suited

The Wizard of Odds – by Chris Baker

2.25 ASCOT

Approaching 12 years old he may be, but the Emma Lavelle-trained PAISLEY PARK (above) retains plenty of ability and looks to have a good chance of winning this race for a fourth time. 7-1.

3.00 ASCOT

BLACKJACK MAGIC (nap) won two novice chases last season and took his form to a new level when landing the Badger Beer Handicap Chase at Wincanton in good style last time. 4-1.

3.35 ASCOT

Placed in Grade One company as a novice, the consistent LUCCIA (each way) improved from her seasonal reappearance to finish third behind Iberico Lord at Cheltenham 34 days ago. 9-1.
