Prix Morny mission confirmed for Valiant Force

Valiant Force will take his chance in the Prix Morny at Deauville next weekend.

The Adrian Murray-trained colt produced a shock 150-1 triumph in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot, to shed his maiden tag in style.

Owned by in partnership by Amo Racing, the juvenile had started off finishing second in a Listed race at the Curragh before finishing fifth of six when things did not go in his favour in the Marble Hill Stakes back at the Curragh venue.

Ridden by Rossa Ryan at the Royal meeting, he defied a drift to his left to handily beat Malc and hot favourite Elite Status.

Murray, on a high after the Group One victory of stable star Bucanero Fuerte in the Phoenix Stakes, said: “He’s going to France next week and he’s going well. I’m very happy with him.”

The six-furlong Deauville feature is shaping up to be a high-class renewal, as it is the stated destination of Aidan O’Brien’s unbeaten River Tiber and the Christopher Head-trained Ramatuelle.
