JJ Slevin spared a thought for sidelined colleague Daryl Jacob after standing in for the injured jockey on Irish Grand National winner Intense Raffles at Fairyhouse.

Jacob, who is retained by the 13-2 winner’s owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, broke his collarbone in a fall at Newbury on March 22.

The pain will not have eased as Intense Raffles, trained by Thomas Gibney, held off Ted Walsh’s Any Second Now on Monday.

Slevin, who won the race in 2018 on General Principle, said: ‘It is Daryl’s ride. He is sitting at home watching. I’m lucky just to get the ride.’

Meanwhile, superstar hurdler Constitution Hill has returned to trainer Nicky Henderson’s stable after treatment for suspected colic.
