Trying the distance for the first time since finishing a distant third in the GIII Nashua S. of 2020, ISOLATE (h, 5, Mark Valeski–Tranquil Song, by Unbridled’s Song) took full advantage of a low draw in gate two and led every step of the way beneath Tyler Gaffalione to win Saturday’s G2 Godolphin Mile at Meydan, the first of the eight Thoroughbred races on the program. Quickly into stride on the stretchout in trip, the $70,000 Keeneland November weanling showed the way as defending champion Bathrat Leon (Jpn) (Kizuna {Jpn}) was part of the chasing group, kicked clear once heads were turned for home and put about six lengths on his rivals through the final eighth of a mile. Law of Peace (Ire) (Shamardal) rallied from the back of the field for second just ahead of Atletico El Culano (Uru) (Alcorano {Brz}) in third. Bathrat Leon was no better than fifth. Sales history: $70,000 Wlg ’18 KEENOV. O-RRR Racing; B-Woodford Thoroughbreds (FL); T-Doug Watson.
