Graceful Thunder set for repeat French trip

A return trip to France is on the cards for the George Boughey-trained Graceful Thunder.

The Havana Grey youngster recorded her third victory in five starts in the Listed Prix de la Vallee d’Auge at Deauville earlier this month.

A Royal Ascot disappointment is the only black mark against her name and she will now be pointed towards the Prix d’Arenberg at ParisLongchamp on August 31, where she will have the chance to give owners Amo Racing back-to-back victories in the five-furlong Group Three.

“It was a lovely piece of race planning by George and it was a race that was on the radar from a while out,” said Amo’s Tom Pennington.

“This filly is doing nothing but improve. I love the stallion Havana Grey and his progeny improve with racing.

“On paper it didn’t look much of a race and I thought we were guaranteed black type, but I didn’t think she would go and win so impressively. It was very, very taking and the handicapper has duly noted that and she’s now rated 99.

“She will probably go back to France for the Prix d’Arenberg which we won last year with Lady Hollywood.”
