The first foal out of an unraced half-sister to MSP Golden Jaguar (Animal Kingdom) and Golden Domer (Quality Road), Truehood traces back to GI Shoemaker Mile S. winner Bolo (Temple City), MGISW Dullahan (Even the Score), and Canada’s champion 2-year-old colt and GI Kentucky Derby upsetter Mine That Bird (Birdstone).
Opposing him from the outside is 4-year-old Mohawk Sun (Karakontie {Jpn}), also making his debut since bringing $500,000 at Keeneland’s 2020 September Sale for trainer Karen Headley. He is out of a half-sister to GI Kentucky Derby third Mr. Big News (Giant’s Causeway) and hails from the prolific family of third dam Angelic Song (Halo), herself a full-sister to Canada’s Horse of the Year Glorious Song, Eclipse 2-year-old Devil’s Bag, and late sire Saint Ballado.
