Royal Ascot 2024: When is it, where to watch and schedule as King Charles has five horses entered in various races across the week

Royal Ascot is the creme de la creme of flat racing and attracts the biggest names in horse racing and beyond.

The name itself gives sway to the type of prestige, glitz and glamour that one can expect to see on show at the five day festival.

KingCharles III is expected to attend the five days of racing as he leads the Royal Procession – a traditional curtain-raiser to each day of the meeting.

The King is one of 250,000 racegoers who are expected to show face at the Berkshire track throughout the week.

When is Royal Ascot?

This year’s Royal Ascot will take place over five days beginning on Tuesday, June 18 before drawing to a close on Saturday, June 22.

The first race of the meeting will get underway at 2:30pm on the Tuesday. The final race of the week is scheduled for 6:15pm on the Sunday.   

Where to watch?

Every race of the five day meeting will be available to watch free-to-air on ITV1, with coverage also being shown on Sky Sports Racing for subscribers. 

For US customers, you can watch all the action on NBC’s streaming service Peacock. FanDuelTV will also be showing all the coverage for US customers.

King Charles currently has five horses entered to run in various races across the meeting.

Three of which will run on Ladies’ Day which will be Thursday, June 20.

2024 Royal Ascot prize money

This year’s meeting will have an overall prize-money pot of £10million. This is a record amount for Royal Ascot.

The minimum winnings for all eight Group 1 races will be £650,000.
