Observations on the European Racing Scene turns the spotlight on the best European races of the day, highlighting well-pedigreed horses early in their careers, horses of note returning to action and young runners that achieved notable results in the sales ring. Saturday’s Observations features a half-sister to Classic winner Native Trail (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}).
7.00 Wolverhampton, Mdn, £10,000, 3yo/up, f/m, 9f 104y (AWT)
TRANQUIL ROSE (FR) (Kingman {GB}) makes her belated debut for Godolphin’s all-conquering Charlie Appleby stable, having fetched €950,000 as the second-highest-priced filly at the 2021 Arqana Deauville August Yearling Sale. At that juncture, her half-brother Native Trail (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}) had yet to test Group 1 waters and the rest is history at this stage. Connected to the Juddmonte Group 1-winning stars African Rose (GB) (Observatory) and Distant Music and to Kingman‘s juvenile sensation Calyx (GB) and his highly promising 2-year-old filly Coppice (GB), the February-foaled bay is joined by the stable’s similarly unraced Joyful Act (GB) (Frankel {GB}), a homebred daughter of the 1000 Guineas, Irish Oaks and Yorkshire Oaks heroine Blue Bunting (Dynaformer).
