Fantastic Moon will be supplemented for Sunday’s Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, connections have announced.
The German Derby winner landed the Prix Niel over the 12-furlong course at ParisLongchamp on his latest start, beating fellow Arc contender Feed The Flame by two and a half lengths.
Following that success, owner Liberty Racing and trainer Sarah Steinberg initially indicated they would sidestep the Arc in favour of either the Breeders’ Cup or Japan Cup assignments.
However, with the ground expected to ride good to soft on Sunday, those plans have been reconsidered and Fantastic Moon will now be added to the race at a cost of €120,000.
Lars-Wilhelm Baumgarten of owners Liberty Racing tweeted: “German Derby winner 2023 and Prix Niel winner will be supplemented for the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.”
