  • Rode the UK champion to perfection

William Haggas-trained Lake Forest has won a thrilling Golden Eagle (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens with Cieren Fallon in the saddle.

The UK-raider launched along the fence to defeat French horse Lazzat in a thrilling finish to the $10million race.

Fallon, son of former English champion hoop Kieren Fallon, had sent the field an ominous warning prior to the victory.

“He feels great and I think he has grown,” Fallon declared.

“He looks much better out here than he has done back home.

“Issy (Paul) has done a great job with him.”
