  • Delainey Mary is signed to Chadwick Models

Top jockey Ben Allen and model Delainey Mary have made their mark as the hottest new couple in Australian sport as they stepped out together on and off the racetrack in recent weeks.

Mary – who is signed to the prestigious Chadwick Models agency – lit up the red carpet with Allen at the Victorian Racing Awards in August as the pair hard launched their romance.

She also posted an Instagram video as she embraced him in a heartfelt celebration when he won the hoop scored a huge win at the Memsie Stakes on Melbourne’s Caulfield track on August 31, captioning the post: ‘I’m SO proud of you!!!! You earnt this hunny’ with a series of red love-heart emojis.

She has also been quoted as saying, ‘I love racing and I love everything from the fashion to the horses.’

The Memsie Stakes victory was Allen’s second group one win as his career keeps going from strength to strength.

Mary and Allen met when she went to visit horses owned by her mother Melissa Rosich and stepdad, former Victoria Racing Club boss Steve Rosich, in Pakenham on the south-east outskirts of Melbourne.

The pair have been an item ever since they met several months ago, the Herald Sun reported, and Mary was front and centre when Allen won the Tristarc Stakes on Lady in Pink at Caulfield last Saturday.

Afterwards, the couple lived it up at The Osborne bar in South Yarra, and Mary has introduced her beau to her family, including her sister Lexi, who is engaged to Western Bulldogs AFL star Rory Lobb, the publication said.

Allen has previously revealed he got his start in racing through his family.

‘I was pretty much born into it,’ he said.

‘My dad trains [horses], my brother was a jockey, so it was just what I was always set to be, growing up.

‘From the moment I started riding trackwork around 13 or 14, I just lived and breathed it.’

Asked what he likes most about being a jockey, he replied, ‘Getting to celebrate the big wins, because you have to work so hard to achieve them.

‘I haven’t won that many at the very top level but I’ve been lucky enough to win quite a few Group 2s and 3s and I like to celebrate them properly.’

Allen did a spot of DJing during the celebrations at the Osborne after his Tristarc Stakes win, but he can’t get into his musical hobby as much as he’d like.

‘I’m trying not to do it as much because when I play I need to have a few drinks just to loosen up and feel comfortable up there, which obviously isn’t ideal for my weight,’ he said.
