Enable, whose achievements on the track have made her one of the greatest mares to grace the racetrack, has been retired.
The decision was confirmed on Monday morning by the Juddmonte Stud of Enable’s owner Khaled Abdullah.
Douglas Erskine Crum, CEO of Juddmonte, said: ‘After consulting her trainer John Gosden and his racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe, Prince Khalid (Abdullah) has decided that Enable will be retired from racing and will now join the Juddmonte broodmare band to be covered by Kingman in 2021.’

The appearance of the six-year-old on the Newmarket gallops last week had prompted speculation that one final run might be being considered at British Champions day at Ascot on Saturday but her team have now decided to make her sixth place in the Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp her final race.
It was the only time Enable finished out of the first three in 19 races which included two Arc wins, three victories in the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes plus successes in the Eclipse Stakes, Breeders’ Cup Turf, Oaks and Irish Oaks.
In all, Enable won £10,724,320 in prize money as she forged a perfect partnership with jockey Frankie Dettori.
