Racing looks set to receive the green light from the Government on Saturday to become the first major professional sport to return.
Final preparations this have week have been undertaken to a backdrop of both anticipation and caution.
The return of racing for the first time since March 17 took another step when 120 declarations were made for 10 races in the first fixture at Newcastle on Monday.

A BHA spokesman said: ‘We’re counting down the hours to the return of racing and looking forward to official confirmation from the UK Government after it has published its guidelines for the resumption of sport in the next day or so.
‘The long break is nearly over. This morning, we’ve been busy processing the declarations received for Newcastle’s fixture on June 1 and we are now implementing our new medical screening procedures to ensure we safeguard those who plan to be there on Monday for racing’s return.’
Trainers from around the country will be represented on Monday, including Newmarket-based champion trainer John Gosden who has three runners.
Champion jockey Oisin Murphy has three rides. Frankie Dettori is set to return to action at Kempton on Tuesday.
