- Moore steps in for Kieran Shoemark in the Group One Prix Jacques Le Marois
Ryan Moore has been confirmed as the jockey who will attempt to steer Inspiral into the record books on Sunday.
The world’s leading rider has been called up to replace Kieran Shoemark as Inspiral tries to win the Group One Prix Jacques Le Marois for an unprecedented third year in succession — the last two coming under Frankie Dettori.
Inspiral has looked out of sorts this season and it would be harsh to blame her two lacklustre efforts on Shoemark, who has had a tough start as No1 jockey for John and Thady Gosden.
In a statement, owners Cheveley Park Stud said: ‘Ryan has ridden many of our best horses over the years and we are always keen to use him when he is available.’
