- Jockey King has travelled to the UK to ride Jordan Electrics and Insanity at Ascot
- She makes a lengthy journey from Sydney, Australia, to race in the Shergar Cup
- King hopes it will not be a repeat of her near-miss at the Royal meeting in June
Rachel King is determined to fight off jet lag and play a starring role in the Shergar Cup at Ascot.
Born in Oxford and once racing secretary to Clive Cox, King is now a successful jockey in Sydney with a clutch of Group One wins.
This Saturday she will be part of the female Rest of the World team, but only after arriving at lunchtime on Thursday.
The 34-year-old has some excellent rides though, including Jordan Electrics (1.35pm) and Insanity (2.45pm) and hopes there will not be a repeat of her near-miss at the Royal meeting in June.

The 34-year-old jockey will do battle with jet lag first having only arrived in the UK on Thursday
King was pipped in the Sandringham Handicap and said: ‘I really thought I was going to win 100 yards out, but it wasn’t to be.
It was great to come back to Europe to show what I can do and I was very keen to come back for the Shergar Cup.’
