‘I went to Tom’s as his assistant trainer and things have gone very well, but I felt it has come to a point to move on.

‘There has been no falling-out but I resigned and have moved to Matt Sheppard’s where I will be his assistant. My owners have been very loyal and 11 horses have moved with me.’

Dennis rode 16 winners for Sheppard during his riding career before retiring from the saddle.
