BARELY six months after quitting the saddle, Hayley Turner was spotted back in the plate riding work for James Fanshawe in Newmarket on Wednesday morning.
Now a pundit for At The Races as well as other media outlets, Turner was in action in the mist on Racecourse Side a little after 6.30am.
The 33-year-old, who became the first woman to ride 100 winners in a season in Britain in 2008, quit at the end of last season after 15 years as a jockey. However, she is not about to stage a comeback just yet by all accounts.
Turner rode a lot for Fanshawe in the latter stages of her career and the Newmarket trainer said: “Hayley lives close to the yard and it’s nice to have her on the team.
“She’s been riding work for a couple of weeks but I haven’t heard anything about a comeback.”
