GHAIYYATH (IRE) (Dubawi {Ire}) was at €1.1million the highest-priced colt foal sold at public auction in Ireland when purchased by John Ferguson at the Goffs November Sale and debuts in the Godolphin silks for the Charlie Appleby stable. A half-brother to this year’s GI Man o’War S. heroine Zhukova (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) out of the G1 Irish 1000 Guineas heroine Nightime (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), the April-foaled bay meets two unraced colts from the John Gosden stable in Military Law (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}), Qatar Racing’s colt who failed to make more than 900,000gns at Tattersalls October, and Anthony Oppenheimer’s Tiffin Top (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}), a homebred connected to a top Lagardere family.


4.25 Salisbury, Cond, £6,250, 2yo, 8fT
Al Shaqab Racing’s hitherto unraced RASHDAN (FR) (Big Bad Bob {Ire}) is a half-brother to 2011 G1 Prix du Jockey Club and 2013 G1 Queen Elizabeth S.-winning sire Reliable Man (GB) (Dalakhani {Ire}). Rivals to the Hugo Palmer trainee include Khalid Abdullah’s fellow newcomer Construct (GB) (Maxios {GB}), who is out of a full-sister to 2004 G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere runner-up and sire Early March (GB) (Dansili {GB}) and 2011 GII Churchill Distaff Turf Mile victress Aviate (GB) (Dansili {GB}), from the Ralph Beckett stable.
