BREEDERS’ CUP TURF winner Found looks set to make her reappearance in the Listed Alleged Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday, despite the ground being described as heavy.

Found was beaten on her seasonal reappearance on heavy ground last year and her participation in the Alleged Stakes had looked in doubt earlier in the week due to the testing conditions.

However, despite the ground being softer than ideal, trainer Aidan O’Brien has suggested that he is likely to allow Found to take her chance.

‘We want to get her season started’

“We’ll make a decision after the first couple of races are run and we’ll see how testing the ground is, but the chances are Found will run,” O’Brien said.

He added: “She’s handled plenty of ease in the past and we want to get her season started.”

Found was an impressive winner of a Group 3 race on soft ground last year and chased home Golden Horn on yielding ground in the Group 1 Qipco Irish Champion Stakes.

Likely dangers

The main threat to Found, according to the bookmakers, could come courtesy of another filly in the shape of the Jessica Harrington-trained Bocca Baciata, who won a Group 3 last season and was twice placed in Group 2s.

Jessica Harrington has few concerns about the ground and said: “It’s going to be quite heavy but Bocca Baciata has won on soft and she shouldn’t mind the ground too much. She’s done well since last year and has become stronger. It’s a good race but she seems in good form.”
