Charm Spirit Dahlia Stakes (Group 2) Fillies Mares 1m1f
FRESH from success in the Qipco 2,000 Guineas on Saturday, Ryan Moore continued his winning form when partnering the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Bragging to a cosy success in the Dahlia Stakes.
Settled behind runners, Moore and Bragging were left a little short of room in the middle part of the race but as the rail cut away two and a half furlongs from home, the field fanned out leaving the path clear.
Bragging quickened impressively from that moment, chasing down runner-up Kleo in the final furlong for a 9-2 success.
“The pace was a bit slow early on and I was getting a bit messed around,” said Moore. “She was caught a bit for pace when they quickened but she’s very tough and stayed on well.”
Stoute added: “You had to be impressed. She’s not quite there yet but what it proved is she needs at least nine furlongs. She’s likely to keep progressing”
