PRETTY PERFECT, a daughter of Galileo who has big-race entries in the Investec Oaks and Darley Irish Oaks, made all under Colm O’Donoghue when coming home best of Aidan O’Brien’s trio in the Listed Salsabil Stakes at Navan on Sunday.

Seemingly O’Brien’s third string on jockey bookings – and with bookmakers as she returned at 9-1 – Pretty Perfect was sent straight into the lead by O’Donoghue and stayed there, holding the Jim Bolger-trained Glamorous Approach by three and a half lengths.

Emergent was third, one place in front of the winner’s Ryan Moore-ridden stablemate Best In The World, while Kind Of Magic – O’Brien’s other runner – was last of the six under Seamus Heffernan.

“She won on easy ground at Leopardstown last year and had been working really nicely at home,” O’Donoghue said of Pretty Perfect.

“She’s improved from two to three. It was a good contest, but she’s done it nicely. She has a big, long stride on her and Aidan said to ride her as I feel and where she’s comfortable.”

Pretty Perfect is out of a sister to Holy Roman Emperor and while Heffernan thinks 1m4f will not be a problem for her, he added: “She’s not short of speed.”
