LEICESTER’S meeting today – subject to a first-thing inspection – goes ahead as planned.

Clerk of the course Jimmy Stevenson was confident the track would be fit to stage the seven-race card, which starts at 6.10, and his optimism was well placed.

Conditions will, however, be testing as the going is heavy (4.4 on the GoingStick).

There is also racing from Beverley, Newton Abbot, Brighton and Ballinrobe today.
