Johnson to De Burgh Equine

Will Johnson has been appointed to the position of bloodstock consultant at De Burgh Equine, the agency announced Friday. The Australian native, who previous worked as assistant trainer to Roger Varian, also spent time with Australian trainers David Hayes and Robert Smerdon after graduating Monash University with a business degree in marketing.

“I am delighted Will is joining us at De Burgh Equine at a time when we are expanding our business in the Southern Hemisphere and developing bloodstock markets,” commented Hubie de Burgh. “Will, who comes from a family steeped in Australian racing history, has worked for some hugely successful trainers. He comes to us highly recommend by all of those he worked for and I am sure he will be a valuable asset to our existing clients and new ones in the future.”

Added Johnson, “I am very excited to be joining De Burgh Equine. Hubie’s results in both hemispheres are second to none. The racing industry as a whole is becoming more globalised by the year and I look forward to building long-term relationships with participants across continents.”
