Preview: Italy, Sunday
Capannelle: Premio Roma GBI Racing (Group 1) 1m 2f, turf, 3yo+ 3.15pm GMT
STEFANO BOTTI is double-handed as he bids to win the major prize in Italy for the fourth successive week, relying on Cleo Fan (Umberto Rispoli) and Priore Philip (Dario Vargiu) against nine rivals.
Botti’s winning run began with Hero Look in the Group 2 Gran Criterium and has included the subsequent Group 1 successes of Dylan Mouth (Gran Premio del Jockey Club) and Final Score (Lydia Tesio).
Cleo Fan has three wins and four seconds from seven career starts, recording a personal best here in September when winning a Listed race by five lengths.
Stablemate Priore Philip is unbeaten in two previous starts in Group 1 company, having won the Gran Criterium last year and the Vittorio di Capua last time out. The question mark against Priore Philip is the race distance as he has yet to go beyond a mile.
German raider Dartagnan D’Azur (Werner Hefter/Mickael Barzalona) is a potential danger, while Duc di Mantova (Raffaele Bondi/Federico Bossa) was the only runner to give Dylan Mouth any sort of a contest when runner-up in the Gran Premio del Jockey Club.
Also on Sunday
Capannelle: Premio Ribot (Group 2) 1m, turf, 3yo+, 2.40pm GMT
Verdetto Finale (Raffaele Bondi/Federico Bossa) has the chance to advertise the claims of Priore Philip in the Premio Roma, having chased him home in the Vittorio di Capua at the end of September.
French challenger Dancing Sands (Henri-Alex Pantall/Mickael Barzalona) picked up a Listed race in Cologne last time out and she looks a major player.
