Deauville: Longines Prix du Calvados (Group 3) 7f, 2yo fillies

BRITISH-based trainers have landed the last three renewals of the top fillies-only juvenile race of Deauville’s month-long meeting.

Kevin Ryan will be aiming to add the name of Calypso Beat to those of Elusive Kate (John Gosden), Purr Along (William Muir) and most recently Sandiva (Richard Fahey).

The daughter of Speightsown makes a quick return to action after chasing home Muraaqaba in the Group 3 Sweet Solario Stakes a fortnight ago, having previously made all to land the Listed Empress Stakes over 6f.

Sivoliere brushed aside Kindly Dismiss in the Listed Criterium du Bequet under Jean-Bernard Eyquem, who keeps the ride for Jean-Claude Rouget.

Prior to that improved effort Sivoliere had finished just behind La Khaleesi in the Prix Roland de Chambure at Longchamp.

Rouget’s assistant Simone Brogi said: “She has already shown her courage and I think she will like the track here.”

Spanish trainer Ana Imaz Ceca does well with her runners at the track and a good performance from the unbeaten Santa Helena here could be a pointer to the chances of the stable’s Quevedo 24 hours later in the Prix Morny.
