Double Trouble

After Happily (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) upstaged the colts on Sunday, it could be the turn of the fillies again on Wednesday with Sonjeu (Fr) (Intello {Ger}) and High Dream Milena (Fr) (Dabirsim {Fr}) posing a stern challenge in Saint-Cloud’s G3 Prix Thomas Bryon. The Wertheimers’s Sonjeu steps up after her win in the Listed Prix Saraca over 6 1/2 furlongs at Maisons-Laffitte Sept. 11, while High Dream Milena comes back down in class having been fourth in the July 23 G2 Prix Robert Papin at Maisons-Laffitte and fifth in the G1 Prix Morny at Deauville Aug. 20. Of the colts prepping for the course-and-distance G1 Criterium International, Jean-Louis Bouchard’s unbeaten Sacred Life (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}) is a fascinating contender off a 5 1/2-length conditions success over 7 1/2 furlongs at Deauville Aug. 30.
