Deploy In Waller Everest Slot

The Gerald Ryan-trained Deploy (Aus) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) will fill the Chris Waller Racing slot in the A$10-million The Everest on Oct. 14. The 5-year-old gelding, who is owned by the partnership of Torryburn Stud, Segenhoe Thoroughbreds, Stallion Racing and McEnnis Racing, has won both starts this season, the G3 Show County Quality at Randwick on Aug. 19 and the G2 Theo Marks S. at Rosehill on Sept. 9. He holds an entry in next Saturday’s G1 Epsom H.

A statement from Chris Waller Racing read, “Chris Waller Racing and its slot owners are excited to announce that the Gerald Ryan-trained Deploy has been secured to race on behalf of the Chris Waller Racing slot for the 2017 inaugural running of The Everest. It has been an exciting journey thus far and when looking to select a suitable horse this year, we made reference to a large number of races in the lead up to The Everest and many options presented themselves along the way. We feel that Deploy is the perfect horse to link up with for the race given his rapid rise through the sprinting ranks in the last 12 months. Being the winner of seven of his last nine starts including breaking two long-standing track records with one being at Randwick over the 1200m Everest distance, it sees him well- qualified to be very well-credentialed for a race of this magnitude. Given that he is also trained out of our primary training base at Rosehill, we have been fortunate to watch his progression closely.”
