Death Of Buster Parnell

Ireland’s champion jockey of 1969 Ryan Farnham Parnell has died at the age of 83 in Denmark. Better known as ‘Buster,’ Parnell was born in Britain but established himself as a top jockey in Ireland, winning the 1975 G1 Irish 1000 Guineas aboard Miralla for trainer Hugh Nugent. He was also champion jockey in Denmark, where he met his wife Anne with whom he had two children, David and Tina. Tragically, David, a former champion apprentice in Ireland was killed in a car crash in 1990.
